Lamark Brown
With gopowercat.com reporting that Lamark Brown has left the K-State football program it begs the question...is he the greatest let down in the recent history of K-State football? A guy that came in as one of the most highly touted recruits to ever step foot on the field at Bill Snyder Family Stadium leaves after 3 years with just 45 catches to his name. Thoughts of the public on this? Good riddance? Crushing blow to Snyder 2.0?

Well I think the real question is he a let down, it is why he was a let down. Was it the enormous pressure from fans or the incompetence of former head coach Ron Prince? But he along with Chris Patterson and Leon Patton left and indelible mark in Kansas State recruiting history.
ReplyDeletewow apparently I cannot type. I meant to say the real question is not if he is a letdown, cause that is fairly obvious but why was he such a letdown besides for the obvious lack of contribution.
ReplyDeleteLet's be realistic. This was by no means a crushing blow. With the emergence of S. Lamur at QB next season; the return of DT combined with the addition of Demarcus Robinson, Chris Harper, Hubert, Flanders, etc. = Increased focus on the running game. Translation, fewer passes thrown Lamark's direction. So as far as 2010 is concerned, no a huge loss by any stretch.
ReplyDeleteI attribute his poor production at K-State to Ron Prince failing to 1. solidify his position 2. providing adequate coaches to teach him how to excel at said position. I shutter to think how good he could have been had we stuck him at linebacker instead of wasting his time at WR/RB. This was one of the greatest signings of Ron Prince's short-lived tenure at K-State and he ROYALLY screwed the pooch. I feel bad for Lamark. Could have been a great player here, but after all he's been forced to endure, I don't blame him for wanting to leave.
